Child Injury Prevention (Ages 0-6)

Injury is the leading cause of death for children in Canada.  In fact, children are considered a vulnerable population in Canada because of their unacceptably high rates of injury.

As part of Parachute’s e-learning offerings, we have developed the Introduction to Child Injury Prevention course.  This free, online course is for people who work with families of children aged 0-6, particularly families that may be new to Canada, have lower literacy, or live in rural or remote places in Canada. It takes between 2-4 hours to complete all the lessons of the course.  You can leave the course at any time and come back into the beginning of the lesson you were working on.

The Introduction to Child Injury Prevention online program has been approved by the Canadian Paediatric Society for a maximum of one (1) credit per educational hour. Learning objectives have been provided for each session of the online module for participants.

Please remember:

  • Before you launch your course, check your browser to ensure your Pop-up Blocker is turned off. If you’re unsure how to do that, you will be directed to a support page for help.
